Dao Duong Primary School is located in Dao Duong Commune, An Thi District, Hung Yen Province. The commune is one of the furthest locations away from the industrial hub of the province. Therefore, farming is the major work of villagers here, unlike other communes that are close to the factories which causes farmers to increasingly leave their farms to work in the factories or provide services for the workers. The commune’s economy relies on agriculture, and they have more than 70 percent of the land area dotted with family farms. Recently the appearance of the community has been improved with all internal roads now covered with concrete and asphalt. The irrigation system was also improved with concrete canals that move water more efficiently and without loss to evaporation.

The school buys bottled water periodically for students and teachers. Many 20-liter bottles of water are supplied to the school by the local producers, especially during summer season, when demand is very high. The expense of this large quantity of drinking water is an overwhelming burden on the school and each family with a student or more. The school does have a well, but it contaminated, so it is only use for cleaning or flushing toilets.

"We are very happy to receive the water system from Xylem Watermark. Our students will have an abundance of water for drinking and washing hands while we still can save a lot of money. We don’t know how to say thanks enough, hope that the program will be more successful so that many more schools will have the opportunity like us."
- School Principal, Ms. Thao
