Access to safe water in Colombia is a challenge for a significant proportion of the country’s population of 51 million people. According to UN and UNICEF data, 27% of households in Colombia lack access to a safely managed water supply and 82% lack safe sanitation.

Planet Water
Foundation In Colombia
Planet Water Foundation’s work in Colombia started in 2014 and since then, we have deployed over 40 clean water projects, providing access to clean, safe water to over 80,000 people.
Our work has been focused on the deployment of our AquaTower water filtration systems which have been deployed in elementary schools in conjunction with our water health and hygiene education program. Together, our solutions are helping to bring clean, safe water access to students, teachers and members of the communities surrounding our project sites.
Currently, our focus is on clean water projects in Bogotá.
Water is crucial to our people since this community is in a sacred territory that must be kept clean. Sadly, big factories pollute our rivers and lakes without thinking about its impact on our health. This initiative fills us with joy because we know that the living condition of our children will improve.

Factories around the village polluted our rivers for so many years. It is dangerous to consume water from there and our children are getting chronic illnesses related to contaminated water. The water filter will help tremendously in improving the quality of our lives.
