Following the devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake which hit Myanmar on March 28th, Planet Water Foundation undertook a major response to provide safe drinking water access to survivors.

Through the support of our Disaster Response Alliance partners, Planet Water Foundation’s Disaster Response team travelled into Myanmar, and immediately began work to identify suitable deployment sites for our water filtration systems, with a focus on areas with high levels of need. In parallel, Planet Water Foundation water filtration systems were transported into the disaster zone to be deployed as sites were confirmed.

Each Planet Water Foundation AquaTower has the capacity to produce 1,000 liters of safe water per hour, taking water from sources such as borewells, and surface water from rivers, and passing it through a 3-stage filtration process to produce microbiologically safe drinking water.
