Planet Water Foundation responds to Typhoon Co-may in La Union, Philippines

On July 24, 2025, Typhoon Co-may (known as Typhoon Emong in the Philippines) struck the Philippines after more than a week of severe weather, causing flooding and mass evacuations. Over 80 towns and cities - mostly in Luzon - declared a state of calamity. In La Union Province, the hardest-hit area, electricity and water supplies were cut off, and tens of thousands of people displaced. Planet Water Foundation quickly mobilized a response through the support of our Disaster Response Alliance partners to provide safe drinking water to communities who had been impacted.
