Planet Water Foundation responding to Typhoon Co-may in La Union, Philippines

Last week, Typhoon Co-may (known as Typhoon Emong in the Philippines) struck the Philippines after more than a week of severe weather, causing flooding and mass evacuations. Over 80 towns and cities - mostly in Luzon - have declared a state of calamity. In La Union Province, the hardest-hit area, electricity and water supplies are down, and tens of thousands are displaced in evacuation camps across San Fernando, San Juan, and Bacnotan. Authorities warn that within days, communities will face serious drinking water shortages. Planet Water Foundation's Disaster Response Team is on the ground and preparing to deploy water filtration systems to provide clean, safe drinking water to those affected. More updates to follow.
