Following the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela on June 24, 2026, Planet Water Foundation initiated a response to address the urgent need for safe drinking water there. High-capacity emergency water filtration systems were airlifted into Venezuela and Planet Water's Disaster Response team mobilized to provide support.

Upon arrival, the team assessed multiple potential deployment locations across La Guaira. Each site was evaluated for community need, water availability, accessibility, security, storage capacity, and long-term operating potential. Water sources were also tested for bacteria, turbidity, heavy metals, hydrocarbons, and other contaminants.

Six locations in La Guaira were selected for the installation of four AquaBlock and two AquaTower systems: - San Francisco de Asís Church, Naiguatá . - Dispensario Carlos Soublett , Caraballeda - San José Obrero Church, Mamo - Iglesia Casa Global de Destinos, Catia La Mar - La Lucha Cultural Center, Catia La Mar - Urbanización Brisas del Mar, Maiquetía

All six systems were successfully installed and tested. Local volunteers, church staff, and healthcare personnel were trained to operate and maintain the equipment.

Hundreds of residents attended inauguration events carrying bottles and water containers, highlighting the urgent demand for safe drinking water. Follow-up visits confirmed that the systems were operating properly and had been well received by the communities. Several locations also reported reduced dependence on bottled water, allowing humanitarian resources to be directed toward other critical needs.

After completing final inspections and reinforcing caretaker training, the systems will continue supporting affected communities as they recover and rebuild.

Planet Water Foundation’s AquaBlock Emergency Water System provides clean, safe drinking water access when needed most in the wake of emergencies and natural disasters.
