Following the devastating floods that struck Veracruz, Mexico, Planet Water Foundation’s Disaster Response Team rapidly mobilized to provide clean, safe drinking water to affected communities. With floodwaters reaching up to 4.85 meters in some areas, thousands of families faced severe challenges as local water sources became contaminated.
Our team conducted on-the-ground assessments in Poza Rica and surrounding areas to identify the most critical locations for emergency water system deployments. AquaTower water filtration systems were transported into the affected region and installed in Telebachillerato La Victoria, Parroquia Divina Providencia, and Escuela Primaria Estatal Venustiano Carranza where the systems are providing safe water access for community members.
Additional support was also provided to Telebachillerato Paso del Pital, currently serving as a temporary shelter for displaced families. Each installed AquaTower produces up to 1,000 liters of clean water per hour - helping ensure that essential water needs are met during this critical recovery period.
Planet Water Foundation’s response in Veracruz now provides the capacity to support thousands of people with life-sustaining access to safe water. This effort was made possible through the generous support of our donors: Alsea Foundation, BD, Capital One Philippines, The Starbucks Foundation, and Xylem, whose contributions enabled us to respond quickly and bring relief where it was needed most.
Planet Water Foundation’s AquaBlock Emergency Water System provides clean, safe drinking water access when needed most in the wake of emergencies and natural disasters.
